FAQ
Straight answers to the questions we get most often.
Is Centza giving me financial advice?
Centza provides general financial product advice only — not personal advice. General advice is based on general market information, not your specific circumstances. Before acting on anything Centza tells you, read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and consider whether it suits your situation.
What is the difference between general advice and personal advice?
Personal advice takes into account your specific circumstances: income, health, assets, risk profile, and goals. That requires an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). Centza does not hold an AFSL. General advice covers what the market looks like and what typical consumers in your situation tend to need. Think of Centza as a well-informed friend who knows the market, not a licensed adviser who knows your file.
Why is Centza free?
Centza earns nothing from the insurers, banks, or financial companies whose products it analyses. No commissions. No referral fees. The free model proves the structural independence claim: a platform that earns nothing from financial companies has one reason to exist — by actually being useful. Premium subscription features are planned for later.
How does Centza make money?
Currently, it does not. Centza is in research preview. The planned model is a direct consumer subscription — charging users, not the companies being compared. That alignment is the point of the product.
Are my documents stored?
Policy PDFs are used only to generate your analysis. They are not stored after your session ends. We do not retain your documents, share them with third parties, or use them to train AI models.
What is the difference between Centza and iSelect, Finder, or Compare the Market?
iSelect, Finder, and Compare the Market earn referral fees when you click through to a product. The fee comes from the insurer or bank. This creates a structural conflict: the platform's revenue depends on you clicking through, not on you getting the best deal. Centza earns nothing from any provider. Our analysis does not change based on which product comes out on top.
Can Centza switch my policy for me?
No. Centza provides analysis and recommendations. Switching is your decision and something you do directly with the provider. We do not have authority to act on your behalf, and we would not want it — that is how conflicted remuneration starts.
How current is the market data Centza uses?
The AI is trained with current market knowledge including 2025-26 ATO thresholds, current HISA rates, and current insurer product structures. Interest rates and premiums change frequently — always verify specifics directly with each institution before making a decision.
Is Centza regulated?
Centza complies with ASIC requirements for general financial product advice. All tools include the mandatory General Advice Warning before any recommendations. Centza does not hold an AFSL. For complex personal situations, we recommend seeing a licensed financial adviser.
General Advice Warning
All Centza tools provide general information or general financial product advice only. This has not been prepared taking into account your personal objectives, financial situation, or needs. Before acting on any advice, consider whether it is appropriate to your circumstances. Read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement. Centza does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and does not provide personal financial advice.
